Three Youths Drown While Bathing in Hub River

QUETTA : The Balochistan Home Department has imposed Section 144, banning all bathing and swimming activities in the Hub River, following a tragic incident in which three people from Karachi drowned while bathing on Sunday.

The department announced a complete prohibition on recreational activities in the Hub River area. Authorities also clarified that unauthorized persons will be barred from entering dangerous parts of the river, and violators will face action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The ban takes effect immediately and will remain in force for 60 days. The Deputy Commissioner, police, and other law enforcement agencies have been instructed to ensure strict implementation.

Meanwhile, the district government stated that all necessary measures will be taken to protect the lives of the people.

The decision comes days after three individuals from Karachi’s Orangi Town area lost their lives while bathing in the river, prompting authorities to act to prevent further tragedies.
