WASHINGTON : U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran informed the United States it is in a “state of collapse” and urgently wants the Strait of Hormuz to be reopened.
According to Trump, Iranian officials requested immediate action while they work to resolve their leadership situation, expressing confidence that they would be able to manage it.
Trump said the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is a matter of global importance because of its major role in international oil and trade routes.
The statement comes amid ongoing tensions in the region, with the waterway remaining a key focus of diplomatic and military discussions between Washington and Tehran.
Global markets are closely watching developments as any progress on reopening the strait could have a major impact on oil prices and regional stability.
