WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly ordered the destruction of any vessel involved in laying naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
In his latest statement, he said that any small or large boat planting mines in the strategic waterway should be targeted and destroyed.
He added that minesweeping operations are already underway to clear the sea of explosives, while all 159 enemy vessels have reportedly been deployed.
Trump emphasized that no delay or leniency would be tolerated and directed the U.S. Navy to take action against every such vessel.
