RAWALPINDI: A successful live weapon firing of the Taimoor Air-Launched Cruise Missile was conducted by the Pakistan Navy, said a statment released by the ISPR on Tuesday.
According to the ISPR, a media affairs wing of the armed forces, the missile, described as an indigenously developed anti-ship weapon system, was tested in a demonstration of precision strike capability and operational readiness.
The cruise missile was reported to have executed its mission with high accuracy. Pakistan Navy’s ability to detect, track, and neutralize sea-based targets at extended ranges was validated.
The test was described as a significant step in enhancing national defence capability. It was said to strengthen the Pakistan Armed Forces’ coordinated and multi-dimensional strike posture in the conventional domain.
A continued commitment to safeguarding maritime interests and sovereign waters was reaffirmed by the Pakistan Navy.
Congratulatory messages were issued by the President, the Prime Minister, the Chief of Defence Staff, and the Services Chiefs. The efforts of scientists and engineers involved in the program were praised.
