Tense Situation in Manipur After Bomb Attack

NEW DELHI: The situation in India’s Manipur state remains extremely tense.

Protests are continuing after a bomb attack killed two children.

According to foreign media reports, police in Imphal fired tear gas shells heavily at demonstrators and also used lathi charges to disperse them.

A curfew is in place in Imphal, with limited relaxation for a few hours during the day.

It has been three years since the ethnic conflict between the Meitei and Kuki tribes began.
