ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi have completed a three-day official visit to Iran, a military statement said on Saturday.
They led a high-level delegation during the visit.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), discussions focused on regional security, diplomatic engagement, and efforts to promote lasting peace.
Field Marshal Munir met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during the visit.
He also held separate meetings with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Major General Ali Abdollahi, Commander of the Khatam-al Anbiya Headquarters.
Officials discussed the evolving regional security environment and ongoing diplomatic efforts. They also reviewed joint steps to ensure long-term peace and stability in the region.
Field Marshal Munir stressed the need for dialogue, de-escalation, and sustained diplomatic engagement to resolve conflicts.

He expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Iranian leadership and people. He also conveyed good wishes from Pakistan’s political and military leadership, including the president, the prime minister, and the public.
ISPR said Pakistan seeks to further strengthen its historic and brotherly relations with Iran.

It added that the visit reflects Pakistan’s commitment to promoting dialogue-based solutions to regional conflicts, particularly in the Middle East, and to advancing peace, stability, and prosperity.
