QUETTA: Three people were killed and two others injured in a shooting attack on a vehicle in Pakistan’s southwestern city of Quetta, police said on Monday.
Police said unidentified armed men opened fire on a car on Saryab Road near Faizabad, a busy area of the city.
The attackers fled the scene after the shooting, officials added.
Police immediately cordoned off the area and shifted the bodies and the injured to a hospital.
The deceased were identified as Haroon Mengal, son of Jamil; Ghafoor, son of Wahid Bakhsh; and Naseebullah, son of unidentified father.
The injured were identified as Jamil and Abdul Hafeez.
Police said a search operation has been launched to arrest the attackers. The motive behind the attack is not yet known.
