KALAT: Security forces engaged militants in a late-night operation in Balochistan’s Kalat province after intercepting a reported vehicle snatching incident by the terrorists associated with Fitna al Hindustan, officials said on Tuesday.
Officials said two civilian drivers reported the snatching of an LPG tanker at Rodenjo Cross in Kalat.
After receiving confirmation of the suspected militant movement, security forces launched a pursuit operation.
An exchange of fire took place at around 10 pm last night. Two terrorists were killed during the firefight continued for nearly one hour.
“Security forces killed at least one militant during the operation. A second militant was later confirmed killed based on intercepted communications. Two militants were also injured in the operation,” security sources say.
Officials said no casualties or equipment losses were reported on the security forces’ side.
Forces recovered a vehicle and a large cache of weapons and ammunition from the site.
Recovered items included one double-cabin vehicle, 30 M4 magazines, over 5,200 rounds of SMG ammunition, 2,400 rounds of M4 ammunition, three drum magazines, mobile phones, and assorted vehicle tools.
Security forces have launched a follow-up search operation in the area.
