WASHINGTON: The United States President Donald Trump has claimed that a significant number of empty oil tankers from around the world are currently heading toward the United States to procure high-quality oil and gas.
The statement was made via his social media platform, Truth Social, and has drawn attention amid on going global energy concerns. In this regard, Trump stated that large oil tankers from various regions are moving toward the US to load what he described as “the best and highest-quality oil and gas in the world.”
He focused on that the United States possesses energy reserves that exceed the combined reserves of the next two largest oil-producing economies, both in quantity and quality.
In this sense, Trump further pursued an open invitation to international buyers, encouraging them to expedite their arrival and take advantage of what he portrayed as abundant American energy resources.
“We are waiting for you,” he stated, urging countries to promptly arrange the loading of oil and gas shipments.
However, the claims regarding the influx of oil tankers and large-scale international purchases of U.S. energy have not been independently verified by neutral or official sources.
This is not the first time Trump’s statements on global energy dynamics have drawn scrutiny. In such a case, recent developments involving Venezuela, he had made varying claims about oil reserves following reports of actions taken against the country’s leadership.
Similarly, his statements on the potential closure of the Strait of Hormuz appeared ambiguous, suggesting that such a development could benefit the United States by increasing global dependence on American energy supplies.
