ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a high-level meeting with an Iranian delegation in Islamabad as part of ongoing diplomatic engagements.
The Iranian delegation was led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Consultative Assembly, and included Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Prime Minister welcomed Iran’s active participation in the Islamabad Talks and underscored Pakistan’s commitment to constructive engagement in regional affairs. He reasserted that Pakistan remains dedicated to facilitating dialogue and promoting peaceful solutions to ongoing challenges.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif focused on that meaningful dialogue and cooperation among neighboring countries are essential to addressing shared concerns and strengthen mutual trust.
He noted that Pakistan values its relationship with Iran and is keen to further strengthen bilateral ties through continued diplomatic engagement.
The meeting was also attended by senior Pakistani leadership, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
In this regard, both sides exchanged views on key regional and international issues of mutual interest. The discussions focused on increasing cooperation, strengthening diplomatic channels, and exploring avenues for collaboration in areas that contribute to peace and economic development.
The Islamabad Talks are being viewed as a significant step toward reinforcing dialogue between Pakistan and Iran. Observers note that such high-level engagements reflect a shared commitment to diplomacy and underline the importance of collective efforts in addressing regional challenges.
