Mojtaba Khamenei: Iran doesn’t want war, won’t give up rights

Strait of Hormuz will remain closed: Mujtaba Khamenei

TEHRAN :  Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Iran’s Supreme Leader, issued a fiery statement on the anniversary of the late Ayatollah Khamenei’s martyrdom, asserting that Iran does not want war but will never abandon its rights. He called for sustained street presence for 40 days and warned of a new stage in the management of the Strait of Hormuz.

In remarks addressed to Iran’s southern neighbors, Mojtaba Khamenei declared, “You are witnessing a miracle. Beware the false promises of Satan.” He emphasized that Iran views all fronts of the resistance as a single, united entity and reiterated Tehran’s stance against military conflict while refusing to compromise on national rights.

“We are still waiting for a suitable response from our southern neighbors,” he said. “We wait so that we can show you our brotherhood.”

Mojtaba Khamenei also vowed retaliation for attacks against Iran, stating, “Iran will take revenge for the attacks against it. We will take the management of the Strait of Hormuz to a new stage.”

The statement, released on the anniversary of Ayatollah Khamenei’s death, also called on the Iranian people to maintain a continuous presence in the streets for 40 days — a traditional period of mourning and political mobilization in the Islamic Republic.

The remarks are likely to raise tensions in the Persian Gulf, where the Strait of Hormuz is a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments. No immediate response from Gulf Arab states has been reported
