ISLAMABAD: The Foreign office of Pakistan has said that Iran’s attack on Saudi Arabia’s petroleum installations in the city of Al-Jubail is highly irresponsible and aggressive.
This is the first time any country, including Israel, has dared to attack Saudi Arabia. Iran’s strike on Saudi oil refineries and petrochemical facilities is not only an attack on Saudi Arabia but also on the sentiments of Muslims worldwide.
Saudi Arabia has always maintained that American bases on its soil are present under a mutual agreement and have never been allowed to be used for offensive actions against Iran.
Any attack on Saudi Arabia’s economically vital installations poses a direct threat to its security and stability.
An attack on Saudi Arabia is also a direct threat to the safety of the Two Holy Mosques (Haramain Sharifain), which Pakistan, as the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ protector, finds completely unacceptable.
Pakistan has consistently urged Iran since the beginning of tensions in the Middle East to avoid attacks on neighboring countries, especially Saudi Arabia, as they only escalate the situation.
Despite Pakistan’s repeated requests, Iran continues its attacks on Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries.
In contrast, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf nations have shown great patience and restraint, limiting themselves to defensive measures.
Iran’s attack is a severe blow to diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions. It has been carried out at a critical time when peace initiatives are underway, seriously undermining those efforts.
Despite being fully aware of the defense agreement and deep relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, this Iranian action is against the interests of the Muslim Ummah and creates difficulties for the people of Iran and Arab countries.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share historic and deep relations that go beyond any sectarian or linguistic differences. The Two Holy Mosques hold sacred status for all Muslims in Pakistan.
Pakistan strongly condemns these attacks on Saudi Arabia and calls for patience and restraint from both sides.
According to Islamic teachings, when one Muslim party commits aggression, support should be extended to the party being oppressed.
Such aggressive actions against energy installations are dangerous for the economic stability of developing countries like Pakistan and severely affect the daily lives of ordinary citizens. Therefore, these attacks must not only be condemned but also stopped immediately.
