QUETTA: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle in Quetta released a two-year performance report, highlighting major actions against electricity theft and corruption.
The agency said it uncovered 1,193 cases of power theft and conducted inspections at 17,560 locations, revealing significant violations.
FIA filed 324 cases against electricity thieves and launched 853 inquiries, tightening the net around offenders.
The report stated that PK 172 million in corruption was exposed, while PK 825 million was recovered. Authorities also seized 620 tampered meters and 15 illegal transformers.
During operations against illegal connections, FIA recovered 1,300 meter wires. Investigations revealed involvement of some officers from the Quetta Electric Supply Company.
In overbilling cases, seven FIRs were registered against 14 officers, while six more cases were filed against 23 officers linked to electricity theft.

FIA said it will continue its zero-tolerance policy against corruption and electricity theft, vowing stricter action against all involved parties.
