Afghanistan Terror Safe Havens and India-Israel Nexus Pose Major Regional Threat

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan carried out strikes on militant hideouts in Afghanistan after four years of diplomatic efforts failed, according to a report by The Muslim Times.

The report said mediation efforts by Qatar and Turkey failed due to what it described as the Taliban regime’s aggressive posture and lack of cooperation.

Pakistan decided to act after continued militant activity and the alleged use of Afghan territory by armed groups, the report said. It added that Islamabad faced growing pressure to respond to cross-border threats.

The report also pointed to broader regional dynamics. It said analysts must examine ties between India and Israel, as well as the alleged proxy role of the Afghan Taliban, to understand regional instability.

Militant Safe Havens Raise Concerns

The report said Afghanistan has become a safe haven for militant groups. It warned that this is affecting stability across South and Central Asia.

Experts cited cross-border attacks originating from Afghan territory as evidence of a permissive environment for armed groups. They said such conditions pose a long-term threat to regional peace.
