Notification of holiday for April 4 issued

The Government of Sindh has officially announced a public holiday across the province on April 4 in observance of the death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan and founding leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party.

The holiday will be observed on Friday, April 4, to commemorate the 47th death anniversary of the late leader, widely referred to as “Quaid-e-Awam.”

The decision reflects the continued political and historical significance of Bhutto’s legacy, particularly in Sindh, where he remains a highly influential figure.

The notification states that all public and private educational institutions across the province will remain closed on the day.

In addition, all offices operating under the administrative control of the Sindh government, including local government bodies, will also observe the holiday.

In this regard, various political leaders, party workers, and members of the public are expected to participate in ceremonies held across different parts of the province, particularly in Bhutto’s hometown of Larkana.

Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who served as Prime Minister from 1973 to 1977, is remembered for his role in shaping Pakistan’s political landscape, including the introduction of the country’s 1973 Constitution.

Each year, his death anniversary is marked by rallies, seminars, and public gatherings, especially by supporters of the Pakistan Peoples Party.
