Heavy Rains forecasted across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted that a new western weather system is likely to enter the country from April 1 and will remain active until April 4.

According to the Met Office, rain and hail are expected in various parts of Balochistan.

Thunderstorms with rain are likely in upper and central districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Rain is predicted in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, while rain accompanied by snowfall is expected in the Galyat region. Scattered rain and hail are also likely in the plains and southern parts of Punjab.

Intermittent rain is forecast in Karachi and other parts of interior Sindh between April 2 and 4.

The Meteorological Department has warned that the weather system may trigger landslides in upper hilly areas, while there is a risk of flash flooding in western Balochistan and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
