LAHORE: Intermittent rainfall has continued since last night in various parts of Lahore and other cities across Punjab, bringing a pleasant change in the weather.
In Lahore’s Zafar Park area in Badami Bagh, the roof of a house collapsed due to the rain, killing two people and injuring two others. The roof was made of T-iron girders.
Rescue teams managed to pull two individuals alive from the debris.
Heavy rain also lashed several other cities in Punjab, including Jhang, Bahawalpur, and Mianwali, as well as areas of Yazman and Cholistan.
Rainfall was also reported in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
The Meteorological Department has forecast more intermittent rain in Lahore until March 31.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain affected various regions as well. In Bannu, the roof of a house collapsed during heavy downpour, killing three children and injuring two others.
The victims were five children of a man named Sher Muhammad; two daughters and one son lost their lives, while rescue teams successfully rescued two injured sons from the rubble.
Meanwhile, there is a possibility of rain in Karachi, and rainfall is expected in several areas of Balochistan, including Quetta.
