GWADAR: Light to moderate rainfall recorded across Gwadar district over the past 24 hours has led to water accumulation in several urban areas, though no major infrastructure damage has been reported so far.
According to official data, Gwadar received 17.1 mm of rain, followed by Pasni (12.2 mm), Jiwani (10.5 mm), Ormara (0.2 mm), Lasbella (0.1 mm), and Uthal (0.4 mm).
Authorities stated that rainwater has accumulated up to 6–8 inches in parts of Gwadar city, including Jannat Bazar, Mir Lal Baksh Ward, and areas near Bilal Mosque.
While water is mainly concentrated on roads, homes and shops have largely remained unaffected.
However, in Surbandar, rainwater has entered a few houses. De-watering operations are currently underway in Gwadar city by the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) and local municipal bodies, with plans to extend relief efforts to Surbandar once the main city areas are cleared.
