WASHINGTON/ KABUL: An American think tank has stated that the Afghan Taliban regime’s support for terrorism and its extremist policies pose a serious challenge to the world.
According to the think tank, the Taliban’s oppressive laws are a grave threat to the basic rights and future of Afghan citizens, and endanger the legal status of the Afghan state as well as civil liberties.
The report highlights that the Taliban continue to maintain close ties with Al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups, and are unwilling to take action against them.
It further states that due to the lack of international legal recognition, the Taliban regime does not hold full legal authority to represent Afghanistan on the global stage.
