Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met the prime minister during the session. Murad Ali Shah and Sarfaraz Bugti also attended, along with federal ministers.
Participants reviewed the situation in the Middle East and discussed measures taken in response to rising tensions. They also exchanged views on the domestic political situation.
Sharif briefed Bilawal on Pakistan’s role in the ongoing Iran-related crisis. He also outlined plans for implementing smart lockdowns across provinces.
Separately, Sharif is scheduled to meet President Asif Ali Zardari later in the day at the President House. The two leaders will discuss regional developments and the smart lockdown strategy.
Sources said the prime minister will also brief the president on Pakistan’s position regarding potential mediation between United States and Iran.
