Govt plans hybrid work model to cut costs

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has prepared new recommendations aimed at reducing expenses, including plans to introduce a work-from-home model for federal offices operating in Punjab.

According to sources, it has been proposed that federal employees attend offices only two days a week and work from home on the remaining days.

Under the recommendations, 50% of the staff will attend offices during the first two days, while the remaining 50% will come in the next two days.

Employees attending in the first phase will work from home on the other days, while the second group will ensure their attendance during their assigned days.

The proposal also suggests declaring Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as holidays, keeping government offices open for only four days a week.

Sources state that the aim of these measures is to reduce government expenses, conserve energy, and improve overall efficiency.
