LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League will be held behind closed doors due to the global energy and fuel crisis. The tournament will continue as scheduled.
PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi said all matches will now be played only in Karachi and Lahore to ensure better management. Fans will not be allowed inside stadiums, and matches will take place without spectators. Naqvi emphasized that despite the challenges, the PSL schedule will remain unchanged.
The PCB also announced the official anthem for PSL 11. Popular singer Atif Aslam will return to perform, joined by Dania Kanwal for the first time. The theme of this season’s anthem is “Beat Pe Khelenge”, highlighting the excitement and spirit of the league. The anthem is expected to be released soon.
The official logo for PSL 11 has also been unveiled. It features the number 11 prominently along with the word “گیارہ” in Urdu.
This season will feature eight teams, including two new franchises: Hyderabad Houston Kings and Pindies. The Sialkot Stallions have been rebranded as Multan Sultans. Some matches will also be played for the first time at Imran Khan Cricket Stadium.
The tournament officially begins on March 26 in Lahore. The opening match will feature Lahore Qalandars against new franchise Hyderabad Houston Kings. The opening ceremony will take place in Lahore.
