KANDAHAR: The Airstrikes struck the regional headquarters of the Taliban’s intelligence agency in Kandahar, targeting what sources described as a key center for planning and coordinating militant operations.
The facility belongs to the Taliban’s General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI), which plays a central role in the group’s internal security and intelligence activities.
The strikes occurred late at night and focused on a compound believed to house the GDI’s regional command structure in Kandahar province. The operation reportedly caused significant damage to the building and surrounding infrastructure.
However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the number of casualties or the extent of the destruction.
The identity of the party responsible for the airstrikes has not been officially disclosed, analysts note that Kandahar remains a strategically significant location for the Taliban leadership.
The province has historically served as a major political and administrative center for the group.
As of now, Taliban officials have not publicly commented on the reported airstrikes or confirmed whether the intelligence facility was directly hit. Independent verification of the incident also remains limited due to restricted access to the area.
