Islamabad: Pakistan’s ongoing military operation “Ghazab Lil Haq,” launched in response to alleged unprovoked cross-border attacks and firing by the Afghan Taliban regime, has inflicted significant casualties and material damage on Taliban positions, according to the latest official update released at 4:00 PM.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar shared the operational summary, stating that Afghan Taliban forces have suffered the following losses:
- 481 killed
- Over 696 injured
- 226 check posts destroyed
- 35 check posts captured
- 198 tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery pieces destroyed
- 56 locations across Afghanistan effectively targeted through airstrikes
The operation, which involves targeted airstrikes and ground actions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, aims to neutralize threats emanating from Afghan territory. Pakistani officials have described the measures as a necessary and proportionate response to repeated provocations and support for terrorist activities against Pakistan.
No independent verification of the figures has been possible from Afghan sources, and the Taliban regime has previously claimed its own counter-casualties in the exchanges. The situation along the Durand Line remains tense, with security forces maintaining high alert.
The government has reiterated that the operation will continue until threats to Pakistan’s security are fully addressed.
