ECP vows transparent re-polling at Seven Kalat polling stations

Election Tribunal orders vote recount in 22 polling stations of NA-251 Zhob-Killa Saifullah

QUETTA: Provincial Election Commissioner ECP Balochistan Ali Asghar Sial chaired a high-level meeting on Tuesday to review preparations for re-polling scheduled for March 10 at seven polling stations in the PB-36 Kalat cnstituency.

 

The meeting, held at the Provincial Election Commissioner’s office in Quetta, brought together senior administrative, police, and election officials to ensure the re-polling is conducted transparently and peacefully.

 

Joint Provincial Election Commissioner Syed Waseem Ahmed Jafri, Commissioner Kalat Division Tufail Ahmed Baloch, DIG Kalat Wazir Khan Nasir, and Deputy Commissioner Kalat Munir Ahmed Durrani were among those in attendance. Regional Election Commissioner Kalat Division Sikandar Ali Jamali and Returning Officer PB-36 Shah Nawaz Baloch also participated.

 

Officials discussed detailed arrangements for the seven polling stations, including the deployment of army and Frontier Corps personnel at the most sensitive locations.

 

Addressing the meeting, Sial emphasized the importance of impartiality and security. “The deployment of impartial and qualified election staff should be ensured and foolproof security arrangements should be made,” he said.

 

He added that no effort should be spared to provide a peaceful environment to voters. “All voters can exercise their right to vote in a free environment,” Sial stated.
