KABUL: There is loud explosion has been heard at the former United States Bagram Airbase and also in the Kabul Airport.
In this regard, the explosion specifically focused on depots believed to contain abandoned military hardware.
Bagram Airbase, located north of Kabul, once served as the largest US military installation in Afghanistan and played a central role during the two-decade conflict.
After the US withdrawal in 2021, the base was handed over to Afghan authorities.
In this sense, Pakistani authorities have not yet issued a comprehensive public statement outlining the strategic objectives behind the reported strike.
There has been no immediate response from Afghan officials regarding the incident. It also remains unclear whether the current Afghan administration had prior knowledge of the reported operation.
