ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces have dealt a severe blow to Afghan Taliban militants, officials said.
Pakistani forces captured the Angoor Adda terminal in Paktia province, prompting Taliban fighters to flee for their lives, security sources reported.
Operation Ghazab lil-Haq scored another major success when troops seized five Afghan posts opposite South Waziristan. Officials said the Angoor Adda terminal was completely destroyed during the operation.
Sources reported heavy clashes around Angoor Adda during the operation. Pakistani forces, they said, now have full control of the area and have tightened security.
Officials emphasised that the operation was carried out to secure the border and strengthen overall regional security.
