ISLAMABAD: Resigned President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), Tariq Bugti, has stated that the federation has not received a single rupee in the past two years.
Speaking on a private TV channel program, he said the Pakistan Hockey Federation’s annual grant is Rs 3.5 million. However, not even this amount has been received in the last two years.
He revealed that the Pakistan Sports Board has not provided any funds to the PHF for the past two years.
Tariq Bugti mentioned that Prime Minister of Pakistan granted Rs 12 to 13 crore in various funding packages.
He praised Field Marshal Asim Munir for providing significant support, noting that when the team returned after winning the Azlan Shah Cup, the Field Marshal met with them.
He further stated that the Chief Minister of Balochistan has been supporting hockey, but the federation has received no assistance from any other source.
Tariq Bugti added that his resignation has been accepted and he has no regrets.
He emphasized that he has given his best contribution to hockey.
