QUETTA: A viral forwarded message circulating on social media platforms falsely claimed that armed militants attacked a 12-vehicle convoy of Pakistani security forces in the Mararo area of Mastung district, Balochistan, resulting in casualties among personnel.
The post, timestamped around 3:59 PM, described initial reports of deaths and injuries, a security cordon, and an ongoing search operation.
However, the claim has been debunked after the fact check.
No credible evidence was found of any such incident happening , nor any local and official authorities in Balochistan have reported any such incident in Mastung today.
This appears to be a classic example of disinformation designed to spread panic or create a false narrative about security situations in the province.
Authorities routinely warn against sharing unverified forwards, especially those involving attacks on security forces, as they can mislead the public and undermine morale.
Public are advised to rely only on official sources such as ISPR, provincial government channels, or verified media for accurate updates on security-related developments.
