Blast Near Bannu Police Station Kills Two Civilians, Injures 15

BANNU: A powerful explosion rocked the area near the main gate of Miryan Police Station in Bannu on 16 February, with initial investigations revealing that the blast was caused by explosives planted on a motorcycle. Thanks to sturdy sandbag fortifications around the police station, all personnel inside remained unharmed. Tragically, however, the attack claimed the lives of two innocent civilians and left fifteen others injured.

Security officials and analysts point out a recurring pattern: whenever militant groups—whether operating under the banner of Fitna Al Hindustan or Fitna Al Khawarij—suffer significant setbacks at the hands of law enforcement agencies, they shift their focus to soft civilian targets. By deliberately striking unarmed men, women, and children, these elements expose the emptiness of their professed cause.

Such cowardly acts demonstrate that their campaign is neither rooted in genuine political grievances nor driven by any legitimate ideology. Instead, it appears fueled by foreign funding and designed solely to spread terror, create instability, and undermine Pakistan through relentless bloodshed and fear. Authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the incident while vowing to bring the perpetrators to justice.
