ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced its decision to shift Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to a hospital, citing health concerns.
Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry confirmed the development on Saturday, stating that the decision was made in view of the former prime minister’s medical condition.
“It has been decided to shift the PTI founder to a hospital in light of his health,” Dr. Chaudhary said in a statement. He added that the government has also facilitated communication between Imran Khan and his sons, allowing them to speak with him.
The Minister emphasized that the administration is acting purely on humanitarian grounds and in accordance with legal requirements. He asserted that it is the government’s responsibility to ensure every prisoner receives facilities as mandated by the law.
Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry urged political parties, particularly the PTI, to refrain from politicizing the matter. “There should be no politics on a sensitive issue like health,” he stated.
He further appealed to the PTI leadership to avoid baseless propaganda or political point-scoring on this issue. “The government is fulfilling its responsibilities. Instead of politicizing this, they should show national seriousness and tolerance,”he added.
