Lahore: Details have surfaced regarding the meeting between ICC Deputy Chairman Imran Khwaja and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
Sources claim that ICC Deputy Chairman Imran Khwaja met with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and attempted to persuade him that Pakistan should play the match against India scheduled for February 15.
In response, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi informed him that the decision to boycott the match against India was made by the Government of Pakistan, and therefore the final decision on this matter rests solely with the Government of Pakistan.
The ICC Deputy Chairman assured him that he would present the PCB’s concerns before the ICC members.
Sources also claim that, if necessary, the PCB Chairman may meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif tomorrow.
According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board may also demand an increase in its annual revenue share from the ICC.
Additionally, a condition may be put forward regarding permission for players to shake hands.
The negotiations, which lasted approximately two and a half hours, were also attended by Bangladesh Cricket Board President Aminul Islam, while Emirates Cricket Board Chairman Mubashshir Usmani participated virtually in the meeting.
