MAND: The security forces have arrested a key commander of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) during a targeted operation in the Mand area. The arrest is being described by authorities as a significant development in ongoing efforts to counter militant activity and restore stability in the region.
During preliminary questioning, the detained commander reportedly made disclosures regarding the motivations behind recent attacks attributed to the BLA. The suspect suggested that the group’s latest actions stem from concerns over potential changes in the regional political environment, particularly fears related to losing external support networks.
So far, the authorities focused on that investigations are ongoing and that all claims made during interrogation will be examined in accordance with the law.
Meanwhile, the officials also reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding position that it seeks peaceful relations with neighboring countries and remains committed to addressing security concerns through dialogue, cooperation, and lawful measures.
The arrest comes amid renewed efforts by security institutions to curb militancy and prevent destabilization.
