Pakistan Cancels T20 World Cup Kit Launch Amid Uncertainty Over Participation

LAHORE: Pakistan has cancelled the unveiling of its official kit for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, amid growing uncertainty over the country’s participation in the tournament, media reports said on Friday.

According to reports, the cancellation of the kit launch may be linked to ongoing deliberations within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over whether Pakistan will participate in or boycott the World Cup.

The kit unveiling ceremony was scheduled to take place on Friday at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium but was later called off without an official explanation.

The development comes as the PCB has formally backed Bangladesh’s decision to refuse playing its T20 World Cup matches in India. The board has written a letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC) expressing its support for Bangladesh’s stance, media reports said.

The PCB also circulated the letter to all member boards of the ICC, underscoring its position on the matter.

As an alternative arrangement, the PCB has proposed hosting Bangladesh’s World Cup matches in Pakistan, sources said.
