Counter-Terrorism Raid in Mianwali Leaves Six Terrorists Dead

MIANWALI: Six terrorists were killed during a Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) operation near Chapri Dam in Mianwali, authorities said. The fatalities occurred when the militants accidentally fired on each other, according to CTD officials.

The raid targeted the arrest of local militants. During the operation, the terrorists opened fire on the CTD team, triggering an exchange of gunfire. Eight other militants managed to escape.

Authorities recovered a suicide vest, three hand grenades, three SMGs, 200 rounds of ammunition, and other explosive material from the site. The identities of the deceased militants are still being verified.

CTD officials said teams are actively pursuing the eight escaped militants to ensure security in the area.

The department described the operation as part of ongoing efforts to restore law and order and eliminate the presence of terrorists in the region.
