Nine people lost their lives in separate traffic accidents reported from Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, raising fresh concerns about road safety and emergency response systems in different parts of the country.
The tragic collision occurred in the Yakmach area near Dalbandin in Balochistan’s Chagai, where two vehicles reportedly crashed into each other under circumstances that are still being examined. The impact proved fatal for seven individuals, while three others sustained injuries of varying severity.
The police officials confirmed that rescue teams reached the scene shortly after the incident. The deceased and injured were transported to Dalbandin Hospital, where emergency measures were initiated.
The region is known for long stretches of highways and limited traffic infrastructure, officials have not yet commented on whether road conditions, speed, or visibility played a role in the collision.
Meanwhile, another serious accident unfolded hundreds of kilometers away on the M-1 Motorway in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Swabi.
In this sense, rescue officials reported that the injured and deceased were shifted to Bacha Khan Medical Complex for treatment and legal formalities. In addition, the preliminary information suggests that the vehicles were traveling from Peshawar toward Islamabad at the time of the incident.
The motorway remained partially blocked for a short period, disrupting traffic flow and causing delays for commuters. However, traffic was later restored after damaged vehicles were removed from the roadway.
As families mourn their losses, questions continue to emerge about road safety enforcement, vehicle conditions, and driver awareness. More clarity is expected once official reports are finalized details that may shed light on whether these tragedies could have been prevented.
