More options for PCB to stand with Bangladesh

NEW DELHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has begun considering various protest options to express solidarity with Bangladesh in the event that the Pakistan team participates in the T20 World Cup.

According to sources, one of the primary options under discussion is for Pakistani players to wear black armbands during their T20 World Cup matches as a gesture of solidarity with Bangladesh.

Another option being evaluated is for the Pakistan team to boycott their scheduled match against India on February 15 in protest against India’s behavior.

There is also ongoing consideration of dedicating every victory by the Pakistan team in the tournament to Bangladeshi cricket fans.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi held consultations yesterday with board officials and former players.

He has publicly spoken in support of the Bangladesh team, stating that injustice has been done to Bangladesh and that they cannot be left alone in this situation.

It is worth noting that the final decision on whether Pakistan will participate in the T20 World Cup or not is expected today.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is scheduled to meet with the Prime Minister today, during which he will discuss the World Cup issue.

Sources indicate that the ultimate decision regarding participation or boycott in the tournament will be made on the instructions of the Prime Minister.
