According to military sources, Afghan Taliban personnel stationed at Kanyan Thana opened unprovoked fire on Faisal Post and a nearby Pakistani border fencing party.
The incident occurred amid ongoing tensions at the volatile frontier, where cross-border skirmishes have become recurrent.
In a swift and proportionate response, Pakistan Army troops engaged the hostile positions with precision using a combination of mortars, drones, and armored assets including tanks.

No casualties were reported on the Pakistani side, and all own positions remained secure.
The operation demonstrated the readiness and calibrated capability of Pakistan’s border defense forces in dealing with such provocations.
This latest exchange underscores the persistent challenges along the Durand Line, where unprovoked incidents have strained bilateral relations.
Pakistani authorities have repeatedly urged the Afghan side to prevent the use of its territory for hostile activities against Pakistan and to maintain border peace.
