Field Marshal visits National Police Academy

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, visited the National Police Academy in Islamabad today.

During the visit, he held meetings and interacted with officers of the Police Service of Pakistan.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior were also present on the occasion.

Upon arrival at the academy, the Commandant accorded him a warm welcome, and a smartly turned-out police contingent presented a Guard of Honour.

Field Marshal Munir laid a floral wreath at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial, offered Fateha, and paid tribute to the police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty for the maintenance of peace, supremacy of law, and protection of the citizens.

He commended the immense sacrifices and bravery of police personnel in confronting the challenges of terrorism, crime, and internal security threats.

During the visit, the Field Marshal was given a detailed briefing on various police training initiatives, capacity-building efforts, and modernization measures, including the School for High Impact Elite Law Enforcement Development (SHIELD) programme.

He also met with the Cadet Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs).

Field Marshal Munir emphasized that the police constitute the first line of defence in safeguarding the lives, property, and honour of citizens.

He highlighted the importance of institutional cooperation, adoption of modern policing techniques, and building public trust.

He stated:

“A strong, professional, and people-friendly police force is indispensable for internal security and the rule of law.

Maintaining peace and order is a sacred responsibility, and the armed forces of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with the brave police personnel.”
