HUB: Security officials in Hub city have launched a high-level investigation after a grenade attack targeted the home of a prominent tribal figure late Sunday night.

The incident occurred in the Gulshan Hamid area, where unidentified assailants threw a hand grenade near the house of Sanaullah Muhammad Hasani.

According to preliminary reports from police, the attackers managed to flee the scene immediately after the explosion. The blast caused a loud detonation that alarmed local residents, but initial assessments confirm a narrow escape. Authorities report that no human casualties or significant property damage resulted from the attack.

Senior police officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that the apparent target, Sanaullah Muhammad Hasani, is a known tribal figure in the region. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and no group has yet claimed responsibility. Law enforcement agencies are examining several angles, including potential tribal disputes, personal enmity, or attempts to intimidate local leadership.

Following the incident, a heavy contingent of police and other security forces cordoned off the area, collecting forensic evidence and shell fragments for analysis. Investigators are also reviewing nearby CCTV footage and conducting door-to-door inquiries to identify the perpetrators and their escape route.

The attack has stirred anxiety among residents of Gulshan Hamid, raising concerns about the security of prominent local figures. Police  have assured the community that the investigation is a top priority and have increased patrols in the vicinity. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing the need for public cooperation to maintain law and order in the commercial and industrial hub of Lasbela district.
