QUETTA: The dramatic exchange of gunfire between police and armed robbers erupted at Sona Khan Chowk, resulting in one suspect being killed and a police constable sustaining injuries.
In this regard, the incident began when law enforcement personnel attempted to intercept a group of armed individuals reportedly involved in criminal activity in the area. The suspects allegedly opened fire on the officers, prompting a swift retaliatory response.
During the confrontation, one suspect was neutralized at the scene, while the injured constable was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The police quickly cordoned off the surrounding area and initiated a search operation to apprehend the remaining suspects.
In this sense, senior police officials emphasized that public safety remains a top priority and assured the community that all necessary measures are being taken to prevent further incidents.
“We are actively pursuing the suspects and will ensure that law and order are maintained in the area,” a spokesperson stated.
