SYDNEY: Mohammad Rizwan has addressed reports about being recalled during batting in the Big Bash League.
He clarified that the claims suggesting he is leaving the league or failing to honor his contract are false.
Rizwan emphasized that it is his duty to follow the captain’s instructions, noting that his faith also teaches obedience to one’s leader.
“In a match, the captain is the authority, and whatever decision he takes must be respected,” he said.
According to Rizwan, he has no complaints about being called back, and after the match, both the coach and captain spoke to him personally, offering apologies and thanks.
He confirmed that he remains committed to his team, the Melbourne Renegades, for matches under the terms of his Big Bash League contract, and reiterated that reports of him leaving the league are untrue.
It is worth noting that two days ago, the captain recalled Rizwan after he had scored 26 runs off 23 balls.
Rizwan’s replacement, Siddle, went out to bat but was dismissed after scoring just one run.
