Anchor Sana Mirza terms debate on civil-military relations “Misleading,” praises coordination

ISLAMABAD: The renowned anchorperson Sana Mirza has shared her views on the country’s current political environment, describing the ongoing debate over relations between the government and the establishment as misleading and unnecessary.

In this regard, the careful review of Pakistan’s political history shows that the present working relationship between the civilian government and the military leadership is unprecedented.

She stated that no previous government has enjoyed this level of coordination, consultation, and functional cooperation with the establishment. The anchorperson mentioned that the harmony currently visible between political and military leadership is exceptional and has played a key role in Pakistan’s progress on multiple fronts.

She noted that this cooperation has strengthened national decision-making and contributed to what she described as notable diplomatic, economic, and defense-related achievements.

Moreover, Sana Mirza further stated that Pakistan’s growing recognition at the international level is closely linked to this internal unity. She said that without such strong coordination between state institutions, it would not have been possible for Pakistan to earn global acknowledgment for its strategic and economic direction.

In her view, international confidence in Pakistan reflects institutional stability and collective leadership. So far, the Sana Mirza stated that Pakistan achieved significant successes in two recent conflicts due to effective coordination between political and military leadership.

She explained that one confrontation involved India, while the other was linked to developments on the Afghan front. In such a scenario, the anchorperson emphasized that trust and cooperation between the government and the establishment remain Pakistan’s greatest strengths in the current environment.

She urged political actors, commentators, and the public to avoid spreading doubts or negative narratives that could undermine national unity.
