Senior PTI leader joins IPP as Aleem Khan calls for issue-based politics

LAHORE: The senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has joined the Istehkam Pakistan Party (IPP), marking another vital political development ahead of the evolving political landscape. The announcement was made during a visit by IPP President and Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, to NA-117 Lahore.

During the visit, Abdul Aleem Khan inaugurated the party secretariat in the constituency, where a large number of party workers and local leaders welcomed him.

In such a scenario, Abdul Aleem Khan spoke openly about current political trends and emphasized the need for a change in political culture. He stated that the era of blame, abuse, and intolerance in politics has come to an end. 

The country now requires practical steps, public service, and constructive politics to move forward. He stressed that while differences of opinion are natural in politics, there should be no space for hatred, disrespect, or unethical behavior.

So far, Abdul Aleem Khan further said that respect and dignity are essential for every politician, as such attitudes help unite society and resolve public issues. He added that politics should no longer be driven by personal interests but should serve as a platform for public welfare. 

He reasserted that the Istehkam Pakistan Party is moving forward with this vision and is committed to responsible and service-oriented politics. So far, the IPP president said that with the cooperation of federal and provincial governments, efforts are being made to improve educational facilities in the constituency. 

He informed that four girls’ schools have been constructed during the current year, while plans are in place to build ten more schools next year. He expressed determination to bring NA-117 at par with developed areas of Lahore and said he would continue working until this goal is achieved.

In such a case, Abdul Aleem Khan also shared details of welfare projects undertaken by the party using its own resources. He said that 50 water filtration plants have already been installed in NA-117 to provide clean drinking water to residents. 

In addition, work is underway to establish free dispensaries for women to improve access to basic healthcare.
