ATC Islamabad Hands Multiple Life Sentences in Digital Terrorism Case

ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad has delivered its verdict in a high-profile digital terrorism case targeting state institutions.

On May 9, the court sentenced Adil Raja, Haider Mehdi, Wajahat Saeed Khan, Saber Shakir, and Mueed Pirzada to two life sentences each.

The court also imposed a total of 35 years in prison and fines of 1.5 million Pakistani rupees under other charges. The verdict was announced by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra.

In the Abpara police case, Saber Shakir, Mueed Pirzada, and Syed Akbar Hussain were given life sentences. In the Ramna police case, Shahin Subhai, Haider Mehdi, and Wajahat S. Khan were sentenced.

The prosecution presented 24 witnesses. The trial was completed in the absence of the accused. Raja Naveed Hussain Kayani represented the prosecution. Court-appointed lawyer Gulfam Ashraf Goraya appeared for the defence.
