ISLAMABAD: In a significant endorsement, a new Bloomberg report has confirmed a marked improvement in Pakistan’s economic stability, highlighting a substantial reduction in inflation and effective policy management.

The authoritative financial data organization reported that price stability is improving, with December inflation recorded at 5.6%—lower than market expectations and down from 6.1% in November. A key driver was easing food prices, where inflation was contained at just 3.24% due to better commodity availability.

Bloomberg stated that the lower-than-expected inflation has boosted confidence and validated the government’s policy direction. Signs of public relief are becoming evident as purchasing power improves, offering consumers much-needed respite.

The report linked this progress to monetary policy discipline. The State Bank of Pakistan maintained its policy rate at the lowest level in three years, with a recent 50 basis points cut signaling that prices are now controllable. This stability and lower interest rate environment are seen as positive signals, raising hopes for more favorable financing for business and investment.

Bloomberg analysts concluded that the continued decline in inflation indicates the results of recent policy measures are taking hold. The data suggests a strengthening foundation for sustained economic stability and reflects better governance, fostering a more positive environment for future investment and growth.

The report underscores a turning point for Pakistan’s economy, moving from high inflation towards a phase of managed prices and increased predictability, as recognized by global financial observers.

Meanwhile Senior anchorperson Shehzad Iqbal elaborated extensively on the choice. He credited Munir’s national and global headlines to his “brave leadership,” specifically citing the victory in a conflict with India. Iqbal highlighted Munir’s celebrated diplomatic role, noting his meeting with the American President and his handling of international tensions. He further pointed to Munir’s perceived impact on attracting investment and improving the economy. Iqbal concluded by referencing the historic military honors bestowed upon Munir—his promotion to Field Marshal, his appointment as the first-ever Chief of Defence Force (CDF), and the grant of lifetime immunity. In Iqbal’s ranking, Imran Khan placed second, with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz securing third place due to her governance.
