ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s top political leadership has united in celebration, extending heartfelt congratulations to the national Under-19 cricket team for their historic Asia Cup 2025 triumph over arch-rivals India.
President Asif Ali Zardari lauded the team in an official statement, describing the “brilliant victory” in the final as a testament to the young players’ hard work and determination. “The success of the Under-19 team is a source of pride and happiness for the nation,” the President said, adding that their win is a “ray of hope” for future international competitions. He also commended the efforts of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and the coaching staff.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hailed the players for creating history through their excellent performance. “The nation is proud of its young players,” he stated, expressing confidence that the Under-19 team would continue to make the country’s name shine on the world stage.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said the team had “won the hearts of the Pakistani people” by raising the green crescent flag high. She specifically praised opener Sameer Minhas, whose record-breaking century was pivotal, stating, “this victory is the success of the whole of Pakistan.”
Echoing the sentiment, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi called the win a “great moment of joy and pride for cricket fans.” He commended Minhas’s batting performance and attributed the victory to the players’ excellence, calling it a direct result of the board’s investment in developing new talent.

Meanwhile Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has extended his warmest congratulations to Pakistan’s U-19 cricket team, the Shaheens, for their emphatic victory over India in the final of the U-19 Asia Cup 2025.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Chief Minister hailed the team’s “splendid and decisive” triumph, calling it a testament to the players’ exceptional talent and national spirit.
