5.7 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Kabul

KABUL: A relatively strong earthquake struck Kabul on Friday morning, authorities reported.

The European–Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) measured the tremor at 5.7 on the Richter scale.

The quake’s epicenter was about 61 kilometers from Kunduz, at a depth of 35 kilometers.

Residents in Kabul and surrounding areas felt the shaking.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or structural damage.
