ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has announced its ruling in the law degree case of Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri.
The two members bench, headed by Chief Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar, declared that Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri’s law degree from the University of Karachi is a fake and ordered to remove him from his position as judge of the Islamabad High Court.
The Court also declared his appointment as judge of the IHC illegal and ordered law ministry to de-notify him from his position.
The registrar of the University of Karachi produced the relevant records before the court.
A day earlier, Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri had filed a petition before the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC), seeking to set aside the IHC’s decision to hear a petition challenging the authenticity of his law degree.

He also filed a formal complaint against the chief justice before the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).
