UN Kashmir Was Never and Will Never Be Part of India: Pakistan Tells UN

WASHINGTON: Pakistan has told India in unequivocal terms that Jammu and Kashmir was never part of India and will not be so in the future.

The statement came during a UN Security Council meeting, where Pakistan’s Consul Gul Qaiser Sarwani delivered a strong rebuttal to remarks by the Indian representative.

Sarwani said Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory. He stressed that its status cannot be altered through unilateral statements.

He accused India of openly sponsoring terrorism and carrying out repeated aggressive actions against Pakistan. He said such conduct reflects a rogue-state mindset.

Addressing the Security Council, Sarwani said irrefutable evidence proves that India backs terrorist groups, including the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). He said both groups have carried out terrorist attacks inside Pakistan.

He added that India’s continued aggression against Pakistan violates international law and the UN Charter. He urged the global community to take these violations seriously.

Sarwani called on India to immediately halt state-sponsored terrorism and adopt a responsible approach to ensure regional peace.

Responding to Indian statements on the Indus Waters Treaty, Sarwani said India is deliberately distorting facts and misrepresenting an international agreement.

He made it clear that the treaty contains no provision for unilateral suspension or amendment.
